Champions of Character on NAIA Campuses

A growing number of NAIA member institutions are Champions of Character Program Centers. These colleges and universities are developing extensive outreach activities that reflect Champions of Character core values and also meet the needs of their local communities.

The NAIA believes the Program Center concept is vital to the initiative's success, and only institutions that fully embrace the Champions of Character initiative will be approved. To qualify as a Program Center, institutions must certify a campus Champions of Character instructor, involve coaches and student-athletes in educational programs, and engage selected student-athletes and local community members in outreach initiatives to 2,500 coaches, youth participants and parents in the surrounding community annually.

Program Center instructors receive training with the National Center leaders. Training includes review of Champions of Character programming and values, as well as the development of personalized presentations to use for local community education.
