A 1973 graduate of Iowa Wesleyan, Roth played fullback on the varsity football squad from 1970-1973. Majoring in Economics and Business Administration, he took his education and parlayed it into a successful career in business.
Roth has made a name for himself in the business world, serving on several Boards of Directors, including the Business Roundtable for Education. Roth was selected to lead the organization in 2004. As chair of the Roundtable, Roth helped guide and set the direction for the 145-member organization of business leaders dedicated to improving education in San Diego County.
He also served as the Chairman of the San Diego International Sports Council in 2005 and was involved with the 2005 NAIA Volleyball National Championship hosted by Point Loma Nazarene University.
Roth joined Roth Capital Partners in 2003, following 15 years with Alliance Pharmaceutical Corp. Since 1984 Roth Capital Partners, LLC ("Roth") has been a leader and innovator in the small and micro cap markets, focusing on providing the full spectrum of investment banking services, including raising capital, research coverage, creating liquidity, trading and market making, merger and acquisition advisory services, sales support, and investor conferences, to our customers.
Roth has served on the Board of Directors of Alliance Pharmaceutical and BioMed Realty Trust, Inc (NYSE:BMR) and was also a member of the Boards of Directors of the San Diego Regional Chamber of Commerce (2002 Chairman), San Diego Children's Hospital & Health Center, the San Diego Padres Baseball Team, San Diego International Sports Council (2005 Chairman), the Pacific Life Holiday Bowl, BIOCOM/San Diego, and High Tech High School. He is past Chair of the California Democratic Leadership Council.
In 2004, Roth was honored with Sand Diego State University Ambassadors for Higher Education's Annual Achievement Award in Public Service.
