NAIA Division I Men's and Women's Basketball Players of the Week

Brandon Jennings of Reinhardt College (Ga.) as been named the NAIA Division I Men's Basketball Player of the Week and Deana Duncan of Berry College (Ga.) has been named the NAIA Division I Women's Basketball Player of the Week for the week ending February 12, 2006.
Jennings, a 6-foot-7-inch senior forward from Lithopolis, Ohio, averaged more than 41 points as the Eagles went 1-1 last week. He scored 37 points and had 10 rebounds in a 78-73 victory against Shorter College (Ga.). Jennings then scored 46 points and had six rebounds in a 110-109 double overtime loss against Berry College (Ga.). Jennings continues to lead the nation in scoring. For the week, Jennings shot 46% from the field (23-for-50) and 91% from the free throw line (29-for-32). Reinhardt is 11-17 overall.
Duncan, a 5-foot-10 inch senior forward from Dallas, Ga., averaged 22 points as the Vikings went 2-0 on the week. She scored 15 points in the 75-54 home win against Southern Polytechnic State University (Ga.). She then scored 30 points and had 13 rebounds in an 88-68 win against Reinhardt College (Ga.). Duncan shot 58% from the field (14-for-24) and 77% from the free throw line (17-for-22). Berry is 19-6 overall.

NAIA Division II Men's and Women's Basketball Players of the Week

Eric Fiegi of Corban College (Ore.) has been named the NAIA Division II Men's Basketball Player of the Week and Deb Remmerde of the Northwestern College (Iowa) has been named the NAIA Division II Women's Basketball Player of the Week for the week ending February 12, 2006.
Fiegi, a 6-foot-9-inch senior center from Medford, Ore., averaged 39 points during the Warriors' 2-0 week. He scored 42 points and had 19 rebounds in a 104-94 win against Cascade College (Ore.). Davis then scored 37 points and 11 rebounds in a 113-98 win against then-#3 Warner Pacific College (Ore.). Fiegi currently leads the team, conference, and nation in points per game (30.2) and rebounds per game (12.7). In the two games, Fiegi averaged 56% from the field (30-for-54) and 83% from the free-throw line (19-for-23). Corban is 15-12 overall on the season.
Remmerde, a 5-foot-9-inch sophomore guard from Rock Valley, Iowa, averaged 40 points in the Red Raiders' three games last week. She scored 43 points in an 89-82 win against the University of Sioux Falls (S.D.). Remmerde then scored 40 points and had five rebounds in a 95-66 win against Dakota Wesleyan University (S.D.). She next scored 39 points and had four rebounds in an 84-62 win against Midland Lutheran College (Neb.). Remmerde also increased her consecutive free throw streak to a record-breaking 133 before she missed one against Dakota Wesleyan. She also leads the NAIA averaging 31.1 points per game. Remmerde averaged 91% from the free-throw line (20-for-22) and shot 59% from the field (41-for-69) in the three games. Northwestern is 24-2 overall this season.
