Amber Cox became a member of the WNBA's Phoenix Mercury front office team in December 2004 as the Director of Marketing. Cox's primary responsibilities include managing Mercury advertising efforts, as well as orchestrating off-site events for team's sales staff. She also conceptualizes in-game promotional efforts, working with members of the media, as well as sponsors, to help drive ticket sales.
Cox spent several years as the Assistant Athletics Director and Sports Information Director at Columbia College (Mo.) after a successful collegiate career in the NAIA. A 1996 graduate of William Woods, Cox was a four-time NAIA All-America Scholar-Athlete in the sport of basketball. She was named to the All-American team in 1995. She still ranks ninth on the school's all-time points leader list with 1,246 points and is 14th in career rebounds with 614.
After graduation, she remained at her alma mater, earning a master's degree in business administration from William Woods in the fall of 1998 and helping with the women's basketball team.
