2006 NAIA Baseball Players of the Week

Zach Cordier of Webber International University (Fla.) has been named the NAIA Baseball Pitcher of the Week and Paul Keck of Lee University (Tenn.) has been named the NAIA Baseball Player of the week for the week ending April 9, 2006.
Cordier, a 6-foot senior right-handed pitcher from Springfield, Ill., helped the Warriors to a series win against then-#6 Warner Southern College (Fla.) with 3-2 on the week. Cordier has not given up a run in the last 21 innings pitched. Since he has been moved up in the starting rotation, Cordier has had three Florida Sun Conference shut-outs in a row. The Warriors are 27-19 overall.
Keck, a 6-foot-4-inch senior catcher from Pleasanton, Calif., had five homeruns and drove in 13 RBI while helping Lee to a 5-1 week. In the Flames 13-11 comeback victory against Faulkner University (Ala.), Keck had two homeruns, one of which was a two-run, game tying homer. The Flames are 33-13 overall.

2006 NAIA Softball Players of the Week

Danielle Yunto of Jamestown College (N.D.) has been named the NAIA Softball Pitcher of the Week and Brittany Shlee of Oregon Institute of Technology has been named the NAIA Softball Player of the Week for the week ending April 9, 2006.
Yunto, a 5-foot-6-inch junior right-handed pitcher from Menomonee Falls, Wis., led the Jimmies to 4-2 on the week. She had 11 strikeouts in an 8-1 win against Northern State University (S.D.). Yunto then set a school record for the longest no hitter (8 innings) in a 1-0 victory against Valley City State University (N.D.). Yunto's ERA is 0.32. The Jimmies are 16-8 overall.
Shlee, a 5-foot-5-inch junior third baseman from Phoenix, Ariz., helped Oregon Tech to four victories on the week. She had a homerun and six RBI in an 11-2 victory against Northwest Christian College (Ore.). In four at-bats Shlee had two hits and scored two runs in a 13-5 win against Southern Oregon University. Shlee batted .636 and drove in eight RBI for the Huslin' Owls. Oregon Tech is 22-2 overall.
