The NAIA Region IV Baseball Tournament media notes for the regional post-season tournament are announced 5/5/2008 by Region IV regional SID John Pearson, phone 785-227-2302. Subsequent tournament news releases will come from the Region IV Baseball Tournament SID, David Toelle (Kansas Wesleyan University), phone 785-787-9437, and Tournament Assistant SID Steve Wilson (Park University).
The NAIA Region IV Baseball Tournament will be held at Hobart-Detter Field in Hutchinson, Kansas, on Wednesday-Saturday, May 7-10, 2008. There is no rain make-up date; if rain, then adjustments and tie-breaks will be implemented.
The six participating teams are from the Midland Collegiate Athletic Conference (Bellevue University NE, York College NE, Park University MO) and from the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference (Bethany College KS, Kansas Wesleyan University KS, Friends University KS).
The Region IV baseball tournament this year is hosted by the KCAC conference.
The seeds for the tournament bracket are:
(1.) Bellevue University (45-12),
(2.) Kansas Wesleyan University (30-16),
(3.) Park University (26-16),
(4.) Friends University (29-15),
(5.) York College (33-22),
(6.) Bethany College (37-14).
The NAIA Region IV Tournament will be followed by the Plains Super-Regional tournament, hosted by the Region III champion, dates TBA. The NAIA 52nd Baseball National Championship Tournament will be held May 23-30 at Lewis-Clark State College in Lewiston, Idaho.
