A native of Elizabeth, Pa. and a 1974 graduate of Point Park, McLeod parlayed his collegiate career as pitcher on the baseball team into a successful 25+ year career in television. 

McLeod began his broadcasting career in 1974 with KQTV in St. Joseph, Missouri.  Since then, he has worked in Cleveland, San Francisco and is currently the weekend sports anchor for WDIV-TV 4, the NBC affiliate in Detroit.  McLeod is also a Fox Sports television play-by-play announcer for the Detroit Pistons and has been covering the Pistons for more than 20 years.

His resume also includes play-by-play experience with the Cleveland Cavaliers, the Cleveland Indians, the Oakland Athletics and the Detroit Tigers.  McLeod serves as host of "State Champs," a 30-minute high schools sports show that airs weekly on WDIV. 

While a member of the Pioneers, Point Park compiled a 111-23 record in McLeod's four seasons.  He pitched a total of 64 2/3 innings, giving up 49 hits, 37 walks, 69 strikeouts with a 1.49 ERA.  He was a perfect 13-0 while at Point Park.  McLeod was a part of the 1974 Point Park team that made its first appearance in the NAIA World Series. 

The team won two games before falling 6-3 to the eventual national champion, Lewis (Ill.).  Ironically, the 1974 event was held in St. Joseph, Mo., where McLeod began his first on-air job just three weeks after his final collegiate game.
