A 1992 graduate of Oklahoma City University, Chris Harrison was a four-year member of the OCU men's soccer team, playing
defender/midfielder. In 1991 he was a part of the only men's soccer squad in school history to compete in the NAIA national championship, scoring the first goal in OCU's 3-1 win against Sangamon State (Ill.).
Harrison began his television career as a part-time sportscaster in Oklahoma City, Okla. During his tenure, he worked his way up through the ranks to weekend sportscaster and also covered hard news stories, including the 1995 tragedy at the Murrah Federal Building in Oklahoma City.
In 1999, Harrison moved to Los Angeles after an audition for host of TVG, a horseracing network, and then landed the role as host of HGTV's
Designer's Challenge. Since 2001, Harrison has became a household name as host of ABC's hit reality TV shows The Bachelor and The Bachelorette.
Harrison's credits also include appearances in television series and films, including The Practice, Alias, Bounce and Showtime. He hosted the 2004 Miss America competition as well as a full season of episodes of Mall Masters.
