Meet the N.A.I.A.'s - Martina Gandzalova

Nine months after finishing her basketball career at Missouri Baptist University, Martina Gandzalova signed a contract to play professionally with Sweden's top level National Team. She is the first women's basketball player from Missouri Baptist to join the professional ranks.

Gandzalova, a native of Popard, Slovakia, averaged 14 points, seven rebounds and three assists per game for the Lady Spartans. She received All-Conference honors for her play. At 6'0'', Gandzalova played forward for Missouri Baptist, but transitioned to her more natural position of guard in Sweden.

Before she was chosen for the Swedish team, Gandzalova was helping the Lady Spartans coaching staff as a student coach while completing her final semester of school. She will return to Missouri Baptist after the the season to complete her final semester of classes.
