A 1970 graduate of Doane College, Glenn Mitchell is one of the most respected education administrators in the Midwest.
Mitchell was a four-year letterman for the Tigers football team during their four-year unbeaten streak (1966-1969). A defensive back on the field, Mitchell was also a great middle distance runner and was a part of some great Doane relay teams.
After graduation, Mitchell earned his master's and doctorate degrees from the University of Nebraska and became assistant superintendent of schools in Omaha, Neb. After retiring from the Omaha school system, Mitchell took on the role as an assistant superintendent in the Kansas City, Mo., school district, commuting home to Omaha on the weekends.
