Miles Nixon graduated from Urbana University (Ohio) in 2002 with a degree in business after completing four years on the school's golf team. He holds Urbana's lowest score record with a 68, shot in 2002 at the Raintree Country Club in North Canton, Ohio.
Nixon attended the PGA Q-school and played the professional mini tour in Florida for a year. Nixon played in two PubLinks National Amateur tournaments before applying for a caddy position for Birdie Kim.
The 12-week partnership reached a milestone when Kim won the 2005 U.S. Women's Open in June with Nixon as her caddy. Nixon was the first to congratulate her on the victory.
