Damon Armstrong, class of 2002, played basketball for the Saints from 1984-88. When his playing career was over, he ranked 4th in career points and 2nd in career rebounds. He was a member of the 1988 All-District #23 Team. During his career the Saints were 82-48 for a .631 winning percentage.
Dave Bonino, class of 1991, played baseball for the Saints from 1987-1990. He currently is ranked 4th in career batting average, 3rd in career hits, 6th in career runs, 6th in career doubles, 3rd in career homeruns, 4th in career RBI, and 1st in career walks. He also holds the single season walk record. During his career, the Saints were 87-121 good for a .418 winning percentage.
Lisa Broccardo (Russo), class of 1990, played soccer for the Saints from 1985-1989. She was a key component of the early success of the soccer program. During her career the Saints were 67-15-8 for a winning percentage of .789. She was a part of three District #23 champions, one area champion, two area runner-ups, one team that was 3rd in the region, and the team that finished 3rd in the NAIA (1988). In 1989 she was honored as an Honorable Mention All-American.
Scott McClure enters the Hall of Fame as an administrator. He graduated in 1986 from Siena Heights and was an integral part of the every evolving door of Sports Information during his tenure at Siena Heights. He served as the Sports Information Director at Siena Heights from 1989-2000 and is the third administrator to be inducted in the ten-year history of the Siena Heights University Athletic Hall of Fame. During his tenure at Siena Heights, McClure also served as the Media Director for the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) from 1994-2000. He spent three years as an assistant coach for the women’s basketball team and four years as an assistant coach on the men’s team under NAIA Hall of Fame coach Fred Smith. In addition to his work with the Siena Heights athletic department and the WHAC, McClure also served on the Executive Committee of the NAIA Sports Information Directors Association (NAIA-SIDA) and was the WHAC representative on the NAIA’s Council of Affiliated Conferences & Independents (CACI) from 1997-99. In 1998, he served as the Media Coordinator/Venue Press Chief for the NAIA Women’s Golf National Championship in Tulsa, OK. McClure joined the NAIA National Office staff in 2000 as a Championship Events Administrator and has supervised over 30 collegiate national championships and assisted at approximately fifteen other national championships in the past eight years. In addition to his championship administrative duties at the NAIA, McClure has also served as the staff liaison to CACI, the Association of Affiliated Conferences (AAC), the Association of Independent Institutions (AII) and the NAIA Ratings Task Force.
Dave Sagert, class of 1985, played soccer for the Saints in 1984. He was a member of the team that was the District #23 runner up and went 11-4-4. He was an Honorable Mention All-American as well as an NAIA Scholar Athlete.
Josh Wonders, class of 2000, was a member of the Cross Country and Track & Field team from 1994-98. He is a member of the 1995 NAIA 8th place finishing cross country team. He currently holds the indoor record in the 800m and 1000m run. He also holds the outdoor record in the 800m. He was the recipient of the Thomas Emmet Sr. Award in 1997 and was a three time indoor track All-American, two time outdoor track All-American, two time indoor track Honorable Mention All-American, and was the NAIA National Champion in the 1000m event in 1997.
Siena Heights also honored the 1983 men’s cross country team on their 25th anniversary. This was the first ever team in school history to qualify for a national championship. The team was coached by NAIA Hall of Fame Coach Fred Smith and was led by current SHU Hall of Fame Inductees Jim Miller and John Detro.
All honorees were inducted during the 2008 Alumni Weekend Festivities held from Oct. 3rd-5th.
