A 1962 graduate of Oklahoma City University, Larry Jones spent his collegiate basketball career under the guidance of one of the most respected coaches in America - Abe Lemons. Jones would later earn a Bachelor's of Divinity degree from Phillips Seminary in Enid, Oklahoma.

As founder and president of Feed The Children, a nonprofit, Christian, charitable organization, Jones provides necessary aid to children and families in the United States and abroad.  Physical, spiritual, educational, vocational/technical, psychological, economic needs are all addressed as well as medical assistance.

Feed The Children is the third largest charity in the United States.  Noted as one of the most efficient charities, Feed The Children consistently spends less than 15 percent on fundraising and administrative costs.  In 1995, Feed The Children was a finalist for Inc. Magazine's Customer Service Award - its customers were identified as "every hungry child in the world."

Jones has won numerous honors and awards for his humanitarian efforts. He was named the ABC News Person of the Week in 1990, given the National Caring Award in 1993, named Oklahoman of the Year in 1994, and has received humanitarian commendations from Armenia, El Salvador, Guatemala, Iran, and Lebanon.

Feed The Children is often one of the first responders in times of disaster.  Last year, the charity distributed 183 million pounds of food other essentials to children and families in all 50 states and internationally, supplementing more than 1,463,000 meals every day, worldwide. 

Since its founding, Feed The Children has provided aid to children and families in 118 countries. Through the $746,000,000 worth of "gifts in kind," Feed The Children also provided warm coats, shoes, diapers and blankets, toys, hygiene items, medical supplies, and school books to impoverished families.
