After serving as a Legislative Services and Membership Intern in the Summer of 2006, Michael returns to the NAIA as our Legislative Services Coordinator. Since January of 2007, Michael has provided direction and advice to potential new member institutions on the NAIA application and evaluation process. With a focus on determining the validity of medical hardship and game forfeiture requests, Michael provides coaches and student-athletes with interpretation and advice on compliance with the NAIA Handbook and Bylaws.

Michael comes to the NAIA from Creative Artists Agency Sports. While at CAA Sports, Michael was responsible for researching arguments for staff counsel concerning fines levied by the NFL against players as well as the analysis and interpretation of player contracts.

Prior to his internship with CAA Sports, Michael interned with the Chicago Bulls. His duties there included the compilation of statistics for the Senior Manager of Basketball Operations for the NBA Draft and assisting in the administration of athletic tests on potential draft picks.

Michael received his Bachelor of Science in Education (Sport Science) from the University of Kansas in May of 2005. He currently attends the University of Missouri – Kansas City School of Law and plans a May completion of his Juris Doctor. As a member of the Sports Lawyers Association, he serves as the Sports Law Vice President of the Sports and Entertainment Law Society. Upon graduation, Michael will pursue a career in law.

Born and raised in Emporia, KS, Michael currently resides in Kansas City, MO.
