    Naveen Boppana

    Manager of Sports Information and Media Services

    As the Manager of Sports Information and Media Services, Naveen handles various sports information duties for the NAIA’s 23 championship sports and is directly involved with national ratings, awards and the production of various publications and media guides.

    Naveen comes to the NAIA after one season in Kansas State University’s Sports Information department. As the Assistant Sports Information Director, Naveen served as the Sports Information contact for women’s basketball and rowing as well as the media coordinator for the 2007 Women’s National Invitational Tournament (WNIT). Naveen accomplished much in his short time at K-State including the production of the K-State women's basketball media guide that was selected 2nd best in District and 7th in the nation last year.

    Prior to K-State, Naveen served as the Sports Information Director at St. Edward’s (Texas) University where he was in charge of all 13 intercollegiate programs. Preceding that, Naveen was the Assistant Director of Athletic Media Relations at Holy Cross College in Worcester, MA. While there, Naveen was the primary contact for women’s basketball, baseball, field hockey, golf, swimming and diving and volleyball, while assisting with football and men’s basketball. Web site updating, copywriting, desktop publishing, and stat keeping were all among Naveen’s responsibilities in his previous positions.

    Naveen broke into athletics as a student assistant at his alma mater, Plattsburgh State University in 1997.  He completed his education there in 1998 and then served as a publicist for the State University of New York Athletic Conference for a year before moving to Holy Cross as the Athletic Media Relations Intern.

    He and his wife Sailaja reside in Lenexa, KS with their daughter Komali.
