2008 NAIA National Volleyball Championship

December 2-6, 2008 Final Site

 

Number of Teams Participating: 36 teams qualify (28 automatic berths, 1 possible host berth, 7-8 at-large berths)

Format:   The top 11 seeds and final site host (or top 12 if no host) receive an opening round bye.  Remaining 24 teams play in opening round pairings.  Opening round winners join top 11 seeds and host at the final site for a 24-team pool play tournament.

Official Credential Party-All Rounds: maximum of 21 (16 players and 5 support personnel)

Conference/Independent National Championship Qualifying Tournament Deadline: November 15

National Championship Selection, Seeding and Opening Round Matchups Set: November 16

National Championship Opening Round Play:  November 22 (campus sites nationwide)

National Championship Final Site Play: December 2-6 (Tyson Event Center, Sioux City, Iowa)

Final Site Team Check-in:  1-3pm, Monday, December 1 (MANDATORY for all teams to arrive by check-in)

Final Site Tournament Coaches Meeting: 4pm, Monday, December 1 (MANDATORY)

NAIA-VCA Coaches Forum (at final site) : Forum will begin at the tournament coaches meeting, and if needed, will reconvene immediately following the banquet if needed.

Final Site Banquet: 6pm, Monday, December 1 (MANDATORY)

Final Site Opening Ceremonies: 8:30 pm, Tuesday, December 2 (MANDATORY)

Final Site Airports:  Sioux City, IA or Omaha NE (80 miles from Sioux City)

Final Site Hotels:  Teams will be assigned to a specified hotel at a later date.  Team rate for all properties is $79 + tax.
