Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT)

Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) – On March 1, 2005, the College Board implemented the “New SAT.”  The College Board has added a writing section to the exam, changed the name of the verbal section to Critical Reading and eliminated analogies from the section.  The College Board also expanded the math section to include topics from third-year college preparatory math courses and eliminated quantitative comparisons.  With the addition of the writing section, the College Board increased the maximum achievable score to 2400.

After considerable discussion, the NAIA National Eligibility Committee (NEC) has determined that until further notification as to the reliability and validity of the results of the Writing section, freshman eligibility will be determined using the Critical Reading and Math sections of the exam.  The student must still obtain a minimum score of 860 on those two sections of the SAT at a single test sitting administered by a certified tester on a national or international testing date.
