COLUMBUS, Ohio - Ohio Dominican's head baseball coach Paul Page earned his 800th career victory on Saturday (April 26) following an 11-1 victory over Shawnee State (Ohio) University in the first game of a conference doubleheader.  The Panthers went on to sweep the twin bill from visiting Shawnee State with a 3-2 victory in the nightcap.

"800 wins reflects the contributions of hundreds of outstanding players, strong administrative support, and a commitment from a large number of support staff, friends and alumni," said Page.  "I'm thankful to all of them and Ohio Dominican for giving me this opportunity," adds Page.

In his 21 year tenure as head coach Page has averaged 38 wins per year, including nine seasons with 40 or more wins.  He has turned the Panthers baseball program into a conference power and a national contender.  ODU has won 10 conference titles, including five of the last six, and made five World Series appearances.

With the two victories Page moves into 13-place in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) with 801 victories.

His 801 victories is 8th overall among active baseball coaches and with a record of 801-346-6 has a compiled the 4th best winning percentage among active coaches at .694.

The Panthers will be back in action today as they travel to Portsmouth, Ohio to conclude a four game set with Shawnee State University.
