KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The 2008 NAIA Baseball Super Regionals will get underway on Wednesday, May 14 with games wrapping up on Saturday, May 17. Fourteen teams are left with the Region champions facing off against each other.

Lewis-Clark State (Idaho) heads the field of participants with the No. 1 seed. The Warriors, who are No. 2 in the latest NAIA Top 25 poll (May 7), have won the last two national titles and 15 overall. LCSC faces off against No. 3 Azusa Pacific (Calif.) in Lewiston, Idaho from May 14-15 & 17.

All games are played in a best 2-out-of-3 series format, with the winner advancing to the 52nd annual AVISTA-NAIA World Series played from May 23-30 in Lewiston, Idaho. Two at-large bids will be awarded to the highest-seeded remaining teams that do not win their Super Regional. A third at-large will be awarded if host Lewis Clark State wins the West Coast Super Regional. In all, 10 teams will compete for the World Series trophy.

The official World Series bracket listing game times and seedings will be announced on Sunday, May 18

WEST COAST SUPER REGIONAL
#3 Azusa Pacific (Calif.) University (45-8) vs. #1 Lewis-Clark State (Idaho) College (51-5), May 14-15 & 17

Notes: Azusa Pacific is making second straight Super Regional appearance... LCSC is playing in second consecutive, defeated APU last year in three games and scored 34 runs overall... LSCS is making a warm-up run by hosting this three-game series - the Warriors will host the 52^nd Annual AVISTA-NAIA World Series from May 23-30 and the event marks the ninth straight time and 17^th overall they have hosted... APU is searching for fourth trip to World Series, second straight... LSCS is locked in with its NAIA-record 27^th World Series appearance and 10^th straight.

PLAINS SUPER REGIONAL
#6 Bellevue (Neb.) University (50-13) vs. #13 Jamestown (N.D.) College (30-17), May 14-15

Notes: Hosted by Jamestown... Bellevue has won eight of the last nine Region IV Championships... Jamestown is advancing to its third Super Regional in the last five years, first since 2006... The last time these two faced off was 2006 when Bellevue won in three games and scored 26 combined runs... Bellevue is looking for its 12^th World Series appearance and third straight... Jamestown tries for its second overall World Series and first since 2004.

MID-SOUTH SUPER REGIONAL
#10 Missouri Baptist University (40-14-1) vs. #4 Oklahoma City University (53-10), May 15-17

Notes: Hosted by Oklahoma City... OCU knocked off No. 1 Lubbock Christian twice in the Region VI Championships... OCU is appearing in first Super Regional since 2005, the year it won the National Championship... Missouri Baptist is the sixth different team from Region V to appear in Super Regionals... MBU is searching for first World Series appearances... OK City is looking for 10^th World Series and first since 2005.

HEARTLAND SUPER REGIONAL
#8 Spring Arbor (Mich.) University (35-7) vs. #12 St. Xavier (Ill.) University (37-18), May 14-16

Notes: Hosted by St. Xavier... SXU is making third Super Regional appearance in last four seasons... Spring Arbor advances to second straight Super Regional... Spring Arbor is looking for fifth overall World Series appearance and second straight... St. Xavier is searching for fifth World Series, first since 2006.

EAST COAST SUPER REGIONAL
#14 Fisher (Mass.) College (33-21) vs. #11 Ohio Dominican University (37-14), May 15-16

SOUTH CENTRAL SUPER REGIONAL
#7 Union (Ky.) College (45-15) vs. #9 Cumberland (Tenn.) University (45-19), May 14-16

Notes: Hosted by Cumberland... CU has won five straight Region XI Championships and making fifth straight Super Regional... Union is appearing in second straight event... Cumberland took down Union in two games last year including a 7-0 shut-out in Game 2 - that blanking snapped a 125-game streak of Union scoring at least one run... Union is trying for its first World Series... Cumberland is looking for its 11^th World Series and fifth straight appearances.

ATLANTIC SOUTH SUPER REGIONAL
#2 Lee (Tenn.) University (57-8) vs. #5 Embry-Riddle (Fla.) University (42-14), May 14-16
