- Building a 4-0 lead after the first three innings, No. 19 ranked Spring Arbor University (Mich.) was able to ride the momentum to an eventual 10-4 victory and took the best-of-three series, 2-0, over host Saint Xavier University (Ill.) in the 2008 NAIA Region VII-VII Heartland Super Regional Thursday at Richard R. Ferrell Memorial Field in Chicago. By winning the Super Regional, Spring Arbor advances for the second straight year to the 52nd Annual Avista-NAIA World Series, which begins on Friday, May 23, in Lewiston, Idaho. SXU ends its impressive season with a 37-20 overall mark.

SAU will learn of its seeding and opponent when the NAIA officially announces the 10-team field on Sunday, May 18. Spring Arbor is heading to its fifth overall World Series and second straight.
