OLATHE, Kan. -- The MidAmerica Nazarene University (Kan.) Men's Basketball team reached a milestone on Thursday night (Jan. 31) as senior point guard Adam Hepker surpassed the 2,000 point mark as the Pioneers defeated Baker (Kan.) University.
The Maquoketa, IA native had 33 points and 8 assists in the Pioneers' 19th victory of the season. The defending NAIA Division II champs are 19-3 (8-3 HAAC) and are ranked #4 in the country.
Hepker, a 2006 first team NAIA All American, is the sixth MNU Men's Basketball player to reach 2,000 points. The senior is currently third in the nation with 7.0 assists per game, and ninth with 21.5 points per game.
Hepker led the 2006 Pioneers to their first NAIA D2 National Championship, garnering Tournament MVP honors. For his career, he is averaging 15.3 points and 5.8 assists per game while shooting 50.6% from the field and 81% from the line.
