ORANGE CITY, Iowa -- Senior forward Chad Schuiteman (Sioux Center, Iowa) became the fourth player in Northwestern (Iowa) College men's basketball history to score 2,000 points in their career. Schuiteman, who entered the game with 1,992 points, scored a team-high 15 points in the loss against the Dordt (Iowa) Defenders (Jan. 31) and now has 2,007 points in his career at NWC. He surpassed the 2,000 point milestone on a basket with 12:33 left to play in the second half.
Schuiteman, a two-time NAIA All-American, ranks second on the Red Raiders averaging 15 points per game and leads the GPAC with 11 rebounds per game. In his career, he ranks in the top five in points, rebounds and assists in school history.
Northwestern is 17-4 overall this season and ranked ninth in the current NAIA poll. They are 8-3 and in fourth place in the GPAC conference.
