ELGIN, Ill. - A milestone took place at the Lindner Fitness Center on Thursday, Feb. 28th, when Judson (Ill.) University's Chris Oates scored his 1,000th career point. He became the 25th overall player in Judson history to score 1,000 points and the fourth member of the 2007-08 team to have 1,000 career points in Judson's win over Calumet College.
Oates is the third player this season to score 1,000 career points and the fourth overall and has 1,008 career points.
Dewayne Robinson was the first player this season to reach 1,000 points in the eighth game of the year against Silver Lake College. He currently has 1,291 career points and is the 13th overall scorer in Judson history.
Joe Gonnam surpassed the 1,000 point mark against Purdue-Calumet on February 9th. He currently has 1,031 and was the 24th player to reach 1,000 career points in Judson history.
Last season, Justen Boyd scored his 1,000th point and he currently has 1,325 points and is 12th overall. He needs just 10 points to move into the 11th spot.
Judson is currently 18-8 overall and will play for their first-ever CCAC Tournament Championship on Saturday, March 1st , vs. Cardinal Stritch. Judson won their first-ever CCAC regular season championship last week with a win over Trinity Christian. Judson also set the school record for consecutive wins at eight earlier this season.
