NASHVILLE
, Tenn. - Trevecca Nazarene University (Tenn.) head men's basketball coach Sam Harris reached a career milestone with his 400th win on the sidelines. The milestone occurred in the Trojans' 119-76 victory over Blue Mountain (Miss.) on Monday night (Jan. 28).

Now in his 25th season as a head coach on the college level, Harris has rebuilt three programs in his career. Harris has coached 795 games with a 400-395 overall record. He has led all three schools to the conference title and post-season play after taking over a program that was below .500 the year before he took over.

Harris currently holds a 239-226 record in his 15 years at Trevecca. Since 2001, Harris' teams have been to three NAIA National Tournaments. He is nearing his eighth consecutive winning season and fourth 20-win season. Trevecca has a 83-33 overall record for the past four seasons. In the last eight years Trevecca has a 152-86 record under Harris. In conference play the last four seasons Trevecca is 34-15 in the tough TranSouth Conference.

In Harris' first two seasons rebuilding the Trevecca basketball program, the Trojans posted a 14-48 record. Harris is the eighth coach in Trevecca history, and only Frank Wilson (285 victories) has led Trevecca to more success.

Trevecca is trying to advance to the NAIA Tournament in third time in the last three seasons. Trevecca has reached the NAIA Tournament on four (1987, 2001, 2005, 2006) previous occasions. Trevecca has won two of the last three TranSouth regular season titles.

The Trojans are currently 15-4 and ranked No. 12 in the NAIA. Trevecca is 7-2 in the TranSouth and tied for first place in the conference.

Trevecca advanced to the Sweet 16 of the 2005 and 2006 Buffalo Funds-NAIA Division-I Men's Basketball National Championship and want to secure a return ticket with a regular season title, tournament title, or at-large bid. Trevecca reached the Elite Eight of the NAIA Tournament in 1987. The Trojans have been ranked in the NAIA Top 15 in every regular season poll this season.
