NAIA Division I MBB Top 25 Coaches' Poll Announced



No. 9 California Baptist moved up seven spots

Feb. 13, 2008

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - For the eighth straight week, Mountain State (W.V.) is the No. 1 team in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) Division I Men's Basketball Top 25 Coaches' Poll, announced today (Feb. 13). The Cougars, who received all 11 first-place votes and 330 total points, are one of two teams in Division I (as of Feb. 10) with an undefeated record. At 25-0, No. 2 Georgetown is the other undefeated and trails MSU by just 11 points in the poll.

Louisiana State University-Shreveport moves up one spot to No. 3 after No. 4 Lee (Tenn.) had its 20-0 record halted last week at then-No. 23 Auburn-Montgomery (Ala.). Concordia (Calif.) holds at No. 5 from the last poll.

A team making a strong push is No. 9 California Baptist, moving up seven spots. The Lancers have won three of their last four including triumphs over Concordia (Calif.) and Fresno Pacific (Calif.), who is receiving votes this week. No. 22 Cumberlands (Ky.) and No. 25 Mobile (Ala.) enter the Top 25 after receiving votes last time.
