KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) has announced the All-Tournament Team for the 2008 Buffalo Funds-NAIA Division I Men's Basketball National Championship. The 10-member team, which includes the tournament Most Valuable Player, was announced shortly after the conclusion of Tuesday's (March 25) NAIA national championship game.
Also listed as part of the All-Tournament Team are the winners of the Charles Stevenson Hustle Award, presented to the player exhibiting the greatest determination and hustle throughout the tournament, and the Dr. James Naismith-Emil S. Liston Sportsmanship Award, given to the team to display the most sportsmanship during its play at the national tournament. The Charles A. Krigel Award is presented to the coach of the squad that earns the Naismith-Liston Sportsmanship Award, while the Chuck Walden Trophy is presented to the honorary coaches of the national championship squad.
The Frank Cramer Award, which is presented annually to the person or persons who has done the most for the NAIA Basketball Championship for a period of years, was given to John Kornitzer of Buffalo Funds.
Along with the All-Tournament award recipients, the NAIA has announced its honorees as the 2007-08 NAIA Division I Men's Basketball Player of the Year and the 2007-08 Rawlings-NAIA Division I Men's Basketball Coach of the Year.
