NASHVILLE, Tenn. -Trevecca Nazarene University men's basketball seniors Collins Onyando and Josh Helton will play in the first annual Music City All-Star Classic on April 19 in the Gentry Center on the campus of Tennessee State University.
The Music City Classic will feature the top college basketball seniors in the state of Tennessee. The classic will welcome players from the University of Tennessee, Vanderbilt, Memphis, Belmont, Austin Peay, Tennessee State, Lipscomb, Tennessee-Martin, Trevecca Nazarene and Cumberland.
Also participating will be All-OVC first team selection Bruce Price of TSU, UT-Martin's Gerald Robinson, Jr. and Tennessee Tech's Anthony Fisher and Amandi Mckenzie. Derek Wright, Todd Babington, and Fernandez Lockett, members of the 2008 OVC Championship Austin Peay team, are also set to participate.
Various players from Vanderbilt, the University of Tennessee, and the University of Memphis are also expected to play.
Two-time conference tournament MVP Justin Hare is one of several players that will represent for the Atlantic Sun Championship team Belmont along with rival Lipscomb's Eddie Ard.
The festivities will kick off with a three- point contest and a slam-dunk contest, followed by the game.
The Classic will be held on Saturday, April 19 on the campus of Tennessee State University in the Gentry Center. The events are scheduled to begin at 5 p.m., doors open at 4 p.m. Tickets are $10 in advance and discounted with a student I.D. Advance tickets may be purchased at Phat Kaps and Hang Time.
A percentage of the proceeds raised from the event will be donated to a Tennessee State University scholarship fund.
