Blair, Neb. -- The 2008 football season saw the end of one of the most prolific quarterback-careers in the 80 year history of Dana (Neb.) College football. Marcus Sladek (SR, Omaha, Neb.) has rewritten most of the Dana College passing records.
During this season, Sladek broke several records held by Allen Pogue, who is in the Nebraska Football Hall-of-Fame. Sladek now holds almost every passing record at Dana College. His 7619 passing yards topped Pogue’s record of 7505 late in the season. Sladek completed 805 of his 1448 passing attempts. The previous record was 538-of-1091.
Dana finished the 2008 season with a 3-8 overall mark and was 2-8 in conference play. Coach Bill Danenhauer has finished up his sixth season as the head football coach. His career mark of 22-44 is fourth all-time. Dana College is a private, Lutheran college located in Blair, Nebraska. They participate in the Great Plaines Athletic Conference and a member of the NAIA. Dana College is a place where all students actively participate.
