VIC's Gabart Honored - NAIA OFFICIAL ATHLETIC SITE

	Gabart, a red-shirt freshman for VIC, has received many honors during his first year of competition.

Virginia Intermont College runner Steeve Gabart was honored as an USA Track & Field Junior All-American for 2005. Gabart's All-American status was earned by finishing fourth in the 10,000-meters (31:48.59) at the 2005 US Junior Outdoor Track & Field Championships in Carson, Caif. last June.

This fall, Gabart, a native of Miami, Fla., led Virginia Intermont to its second consecutive men's NAIA national cross country title. The freshman led the Cobras by running to a ninth place finish with a time 24:54.65 for the 8,000 meter course.

Galbart was also named the Appalachian Athletic Conference male Athlete of the Week on October 26. Gabart finished fifth overall with a time of 25:17.13 at the Southeastern Classic hosted by Berry College.
