LOUIS, Mo. - Repeat national champions were the order of the day during Thursday's first day of competition at the 2009 NAIA Outdoor Track and Field National Championships Thursday at Ralph Korte Stadium in Edwardsville, Ill.The day began with back-to-back national champions in the men's and women's hammer throw, but the night belonged to Azusa Pacific University (Calif.) senior Aron Rono. He won the 10,000-meter race for the fourth consecutive year, becoming the first individual to accomplish the feat at that distance in the NAIA championship meet. Rono is the 12th person in meet history to win the same event in four consecutive years, and he is just the eighth male athlete to earn six NAIA individual titles in a career. He won the race in a time of 30:23.70.]]></description>
