Fresno City and County Historical Society - the regions most significant archival and artifact collection dating back to the 1800's.

Fresno County Zoo - One of the most popluar exhibits, Tropical Rainforest

Shinzen Japanese Garden - dedicated to Fresno's Sister City Kochi, Japan, as a symbol of friendship and international brotherhood, the garden promotes the cultural relations between the two cities.  

 

  William Saroyan Theatre - home to the Fresno Philharmonic Orchestra and the Fresno Ballet. The theatre has hosted renowned stars such as Mikhail Baryshnikov, Arthur Fiedler, and Isaac Stern. It has also played host to magician David Copperfield and the Broadway shows Les Mis, Cats, The Sound of Music, Evita, Chicago, and Riverdance.

Shopping

Chinatown
You can enjoy authentic ethnic food and go shopping in an area filled with culture. Chinatown is located west of downtown Fresno and borders Fresno Street.


Fashion Fair Mall
Fashion Fair is the area's largest indoor mall, with more than 120 stores including fashion and accessories, jewelry, electronics, music, health and beauty, books, gifts, cards and more, plus three major department stores--Gottschalks, JC Penney and Macy's. Located one block east of Freeway 41 on Shaw Avenue.


Fig Garden Village
Fresno's unique outdoor shopping experience featuring the area's finest fashion, gift and specialty stores along with some of the Valley's best restaurants featuring indoor and outdoor dining. The Village is at Palm and Shaw Avenues.


Fulton Mall
Nationally recognized for its creativity and artwork, the six-block historic Fulton Street pedestrian mall, west of Van Ness Avenue in downtown Fresno, is punctuated by fountains, sculpture, gardens and shaded seating areas. A great lunchtime spot or visit before a Grizzlies baseball game.


Kingsburg Swedish Village
Enjoy Kingsburg's Swedish Village downtown, featuring brightly colored Swedish architecture, Dala horses, Swedish flags and bay trees, and including more than 30 restaurants and unique gift and collectibles shops. Stop at the Kingsburg Chamber of Commerce & Visitor's Center and receive a hearty Valkommen to Fresno County.


Manchester Center
Experience Manchester's unique indoor mall featuring an indoor carousel along with 50 specialty merchants, Longs Drugs, Sears and Gottschalks department stores, and a large movie theater. Located just west of Freeway 41 at the Shields Avenue exit.


Old Town Clovis
Experience the charm of Clovis' meticulously restored downtown, offering visitors a blend of yesteryear's hospitality with a turn-of-the-century atmosphere and western tradition. Known for its special events, a unique blend of shops featuring antiques, collectibles, and one-of-a-kind gifts along with a variety of restaurants and pubs. Reedley Downtown
Reedley's quaint downtown shopping district featuring brick sidewalks and historic buildings evokes 19th century rural America. Be sure to visit the Mennonite Quilting Center and international gift shop, along with other specialty shops and great restaurants.


River Park
The River Park shopping area is the region's newest retail and dining center, featuring many nationally based major retailers and restaurants along with some local favorites. Dine indoors or out, browse through a bookstore, shop, watch the people go by or catch a movie at the region's largest movie theater.


Sierra Vista Mall
Clovis' major indoor shopping mall features more than 70 stores in addition to Sears, Target, Mervyn's and Gottschalks. Located on the southeast corner of Shaw and Clovis Avenues in Clovis.


Tower District
Fresno's unique and eclectic mix of shops, restaurants, theaters and nightclubs. A great place to shop for vintage clothing, browse through used bookstores, dine in a variety of settings, catch a live show or go dancing. Anchored by the historic Tower Theater featuring live music and dramatic productions. Located along Olive Avenue west of Blackstone. Follow the signs off of Freeway 180.
