KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) Men's Soccer national weekly awards were announced for the week of Sept. 24-30 and Mike Borst of Concordia (Calif.) was selected as the NAIA National Defensive Player of the Week while Armando Rodriguez of McPherson (Kan.) was named the NAIA National Offensive Player of the Week.

Borst, a 5-11 senior goalkeeper from Shelby Township, Mich., was part of a school record for the Eagles last week. In the 3-0 road win at Hope International, Borst made all four saves on goal. Later, Borst stopped two kicks in the 3-0 win over The Master's (Calif.), who received votes in the latest NAIA poll. For the week, he totaled six saves in 180 minutes. He has helped Concordia post 720-consecutive scoreless minutes, which is a school record streak. In eight matches played this year, Borst has only allowed two goals.

Rodriguez, a 5-9 sophomore forward from Dallas, Texas broke the McPherson career scoring record in three wins last week. He posted back-to-back three-goal matches in wins over Tabor (Kan.) and Ottawa (Kan.) which was after a three-point effort against Manhattan Christian (Kan.). For the week, he went for seven goals, two assists and 16 points. On the season, Rodriguez leads Region IV in scoring and is fourth in the country in scoring (3.40 points/game).
