KANSAS CITY, Mo. – For the seventh time this season, the Auburn Montgomery (Ala.) men’s tennis team is the No. 1 squad in the country, announced this afternoon (May 3) in the final regular season edition of the 2009 NAIA Men’s Tennis Coaches’ Top 25 Poll. The Senators gathered all 13 first-place votes and 343 total points. AUM stands 17-2 on the year and is searching for its fourth straight national title and ninth overall.
The official announcement of the Championship qualifiers will be released by 6 p.m. CST today (Sunday).
No. 2 Embry-Riddle (Fla.) slid up one spot while No. 3 Fresno Pacific (Calif.) jumped up one spot as well. No. 4 California Baptist and No. 5 Concordia (Calif.), both out of the Golden State Athletic Conference (GSAC), round out the Top 5 teams. In fact, there are five GSAC schools ranked in the Top 10.
