Official Tournament Bracket | Championship Central
Kansas City, Mo. - The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) has released the bracket for the 2008 NAIA Men's Tennis National Championship Tournament. A total of 24 teams from 13 regions will compete for the championship. The Mobile Tennis Center, located in Mobile, Ala., will host the 57th annual event.
Auburn Montgomery (Ala.) received the top seed in the tournament following a 23-1 season and region XIII championship. The Senators will aim for their third consecutive championship and eighth overall title.
Tournament play begins Monday, May 12 with unseeded qualifiers facing off. First round winners will advance to take on the eight seeded qualifiers consisting of: No. 1 Auburn Montgomery (Ala.); No. 2 Embry-Riddle (Fla.); No. 3 Fresno Pacific (Calif.); No. 4 Azusa Pacific (Calif.); No. 5 California Baptist; No. 6 Vanguard (Calif.); No. 7 Lindsey Wilson (Ky.) and No. 8 Concordia (Calif.).
Second round play will take place on Tuesday, May 13 with winners moving on to quarterfinal action Wednesday, May 14. The tournament semifinals are set for Thursday May 15 and the championship match will take place on Friday May 16.
Note: Start times for matches will be 1 p.m. with the exception of the championship, which will begin at 2 p.m.
