· Men’s Cross Country Weekly Report # 3 ·

For the sixth straight week Malone (Ohio) is ranked No. 1 in the NAIA Men’s Cross Country Coaches’ Top 25 Poll.  Over the past week the Pioneers won the All-Ohio Championships in Delaware, Ohio.  They finished with a team time of 129:45.4.  Senior Nik Schweikert was the individual champion with a time of 25:19.

 

· Men’s Cross Country News and Notes ·

·          Concordia (Calif.) had a great week, moving all the way up to No. 18 after being unranked.  The Eagles finished third at the Vanguard Invitational with a team time of 2:14:18.

·          Last year’s Individual National Champion Aron Rono of Azusa Pacific (Calif.) has continued his dominance this year.  Rono has won six of his last eight races.  He won the individual title at the Vanguard Invitational on Oct. 11 which helped propel the Cougars to the team championship.

 

 

· Women’s Cross Country Weekly Report # 3 ·

For the first time this season, there is a new No. 1 team in the NAIA Women’s Cross Country Coaches’ Top 25 Poll.  Azusa Pacific (Calif.) has supplanted Cedarville (Ohio) in the top spot.  Over the past week the Cougars won the Vanguard Invitational with a team time of 89:26.  Their next race is the Aquinas Invitational on Oct. 25 in Grand Rapids, Mich.  Cedarville will also be running in that race.

 

· Women’s Cross Country News and Notes ·

·          Doane (Neb.) made its Top 25 debut this week.  The Tigers checked in at No. 23 in the country after finishing seventh at the Lucian Rosa Invite on Oct. 11.

·          Xavier (La.) junior Ebony Harding continues to set school records.  At the University of Dallas Invitational at Irving, Tex. on Oct. 11, Harding set the school record in the 6,000 meters with a time of 24:41.13.  She finished as the individual runner-up, which was good enough to lead Xavier to the team title.

·          Another new team in this week’s Top 25 poll is Bethel (Ind.).  The Pilots are ranked No. 25 after finishing eighth at the Lucian Rosa Parkside Invitational in Kenosha, Wisc. on Oct. 11.
