Legendary coach Joe Vigil will serve as the Honorary National Championship Coach at the 2007 NAIA Men's and Women's Cross Country National Championship. Vigil will give the keynote address on Friday, November 16th at the awards program held at Greenquist Hall located on the University of Wisconsin Parkside campus. The festivities start at 4 p.m.
Vigil is a 14-time national coach of the year, NAIA Hall of Fame member, led Adams State College to 12 NAIA national championships and two NCAA Division II titles and coached 425 All-Americans and ten individual national champions. His coaching experience stretches to the international level having been involved with Team Running USA, World University Games, Pan American Games and the Olympics. Vigil will lead the United States distance runners at the 2008 Olympics in Beijing.
Vigil will attend the 52nd Annual Men's and 28th Annual Women's NAIA Cross Country National Championships is held at Dr. Wayne E. Dannehl Cross Country Course in Kenosha, Wisconsin on Saturday November 17, 2007. The men's race will start at 10:30 a.m. (CST) and the women's starts at 11:45 a.m. (CST).
