OLATHE, Kan. - Cedarville (Ohio) senior guard Brittany Smart has earned her second-straight NAIA Division II Women's Basketball Player of the Week honor after averaging 40.0 points per game, including a 42-point outpouring in an 85-67 win on the road at Mount Vernon Nazarene (Ohio) last week.
Smart followed the scoring burst with a 38-point performance in an 83-69 win at Tiffin, finishing the week 29-of-42 (69 percent) from the field and 9-of-15 (60 percent) from beyond the 3-point arc. Included in Smart's 3-point barrage was a 4-for-4 outing against MVNU, a game in which she also hit 4-of-4 at the foul line to finish 13-of-14 (93 percent) on the week.
In her last three games, Smart is averaging 37.7 points per game.
