Northwestern senior Deb Remmerde scored her seventh and eighth points of the game at Briar Cliff with 8:29 left in the first half. The two point bucket now places Remmerde in the top spot on the all-time NAIA Division II scoring charts.
Later in the game at the 3:09 mark of the second half she broke the Iowa Women's Collegiate Record held by Briar Cliff's Cheryl Dreckman. Dreckman scored 3,248 points from 1986-1990. Remmerde broke the record on Dreckman's old home court at the Newman Flanagan Center in Sioux City, Iowa.
Remmerde is already an Iowa scoring record holder, she holds the Iowa Girls High School 5-Player Scoring Record with 2,756 points.
