Game 4 - Ozarks (Mo.) vs. University of Maine - Fort Kent

SIOUX CITY, Iowa. - The College of the Ozarks picked up an opening round victory and en route tied the single game record for most three-point baskets made cruising to a, 110-37, win over the University of Maine-Fort Kent in the opening round of the17th annual NAIA Division II Women's Basketball National Championship at the Tyson Events Center/Gateway Arena in Sioux City, Iowa.

Ozarks (32-1) came out of the gate on fire, starting the first half on a 36 to one run in the first nine minutes of the game and never looked back. During the scoring outburst Ozarks tied the single game mark for three-point baskets made in a single game (17), and came within two points of tying the record for most points scored in a single game.

Ozarks were led by junior Janessa DeMuth who played just nine minutes and racked up 15 points. Also reaching double figures were Kayla Messick (14), Melissa Duval (13), Bethany Jenkins (12), Kayli Combs (12), and Kara Tipton (11).

The Bobcats owned the boards, out-rebounding the Lady Bengals by 22 (57-22). Madison Culpepper pulled down a game-high 13 rebounds for Ozarks.

As a team the Bobcats shot a sizzling 56 percent from the field, including 60.7 percent from beyond the arc (17-of-28).

Maine-Fort Kent (17-11) was paced by sophomore Ascilla Jeffers. Jeffers scored 16 points on 5-of-13 shooting for the Lady Bengals.

Ozarks will take on MidAmerica Nazarene on Friday at Noon.
