OLATHE, Kan. - Monique Martin of Brewton-Parker (Ga.) has been named NAIA Division I Women's Basketball player of the week after averaging 31.5 points per game and 12.5 rebounds in a pair of wins last week.
Martin scored 35 in a 77-64 win over Warner Southern (Fla.) and had another 28 in a 72-57 victory over Flagler College (Fla.). Martin also completed double-doubles in both games, grabbing 15 and 10 rebounds, respectively. She also finished the week with six assists, seven blocks and 11 steals while shooting 90-percent from the foul line.
Other Player of the Week nominees included: Edite Kresa, Wayland Baptist (Texas); Reggie Maddox, Lambuth (Tenn.); Trenese Smith, Loyla (La.).
