KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Union (Tenn.) stayed No. 1 in the NAIA Division I Women’s Basketball Coaches’ Top 25 Poll. The Lady Bulldogs received 10 first place votes and 311 points to edge No. 2 Oklahoma City by 13 points for the top spot.
OCU received two first place votes and 298 points. The Stars moved up two spots from the previous poll. Trevecca Nazarene (Tenn.) remained at No. 3 with 296 points while Vanguard (Calif.) dropped two spots to No. 4 with 283 points. No. 5 Azusa Pacific (Calif.) held its spot with 258 points while Lee (Tenn.) climbed four spots and tied with Lubbock Christian (Texas) at No. 6 with 254 points. LCU moved up two spots from the previous poll. No. 8 Freed-Hardeman (Tenn.) (244 points), No. 9 Saint Xavier (Ill.) (236 points) and No. 10 Lambuth (Tenn.) (231 points) rounded out the top-10.
No. 17 California Baptist moved back into the top-25 poll after in week one. CBU was ranked No. 13 in the preseason poll.
The fourth regular season poll will be released on Monday, January 12.
