(LUBBOCK, TEXAS)---The 19th-ranked Crimson Storm women’s basketball team upset 6th-ranked Lubbock Christian on Thursday night in Lubbock, 71-64. The win moves SNU to 11-3 on the year and 4-2 in Sooner Athletic Conference play. The loss drops Lubbock Christian to 12-2 and 5-1 in SAC play.
LCU held a five-point lead at halftime, 29-24, and led for much of the game, but SNU struck towards the end of the game thanks to several important baskets from junior Lana Keith. SNU sealed the deal down the stretch with three made free throws from Logan Martin and basket from Kinzie Didier.
For the game, SNU shot the ball extremely well, hitting 50% from the floor (28-of-56). The Crimson Storm were 40% from three (4-of-10) and 69% from the free throw line (11-of-16).
Lubbock Christian finished the game 42% from the floor (27-of-64), 28% from three (7-of-25), and 100% from the free throw line (3-of-3). SNU controlled the glass, out-rebounding Lubbock 38-29.
Individually, Lubbock Christian was led by Bailey St. Clair’s 20 points. Sierra Lovorn added eleven and Ashley Coggins finished with ten points.
SNU was led by Logan Martin’s 20 points, six rebounds, and four assists. Kinzie Didier added 17 points and six rebounds and Abbey Marra had 13 points and six rebounds. Lana Keith was also in double figures with 12 points and eight rebounds. Ashley Mantooth nearly had double figures offensively, finishing with nine points.
SNU will conclude their West Texas trip on Saturday afternoon at Wayland Baptist in Plainview, Texas. Game time is set for 1:00 p.m.
