KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Trenese Smith of Loyola (La.) has been selected as the NAIA Women's Basketball Division I Player of the Week for the week ending Sunday, Jan. 20, 2008.
Smith, a sophomore forward from LaPlace, La., averaged 27.5 points, 7.0 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 4.0 steals in two wins for the Wolfpack. She shot 60 percent from the floor and 75 percent from the free-throw line. Ross set Loyola single game scoring record with 39 points and three-pointers in a game with 10 against Dillard University. She also recorded her 1,000th career point.
