Division I Women's Basketball Rating No. 6

Vanguard (Calif.) is the undisputed No. 1 for the third straight week in Division I Women's Basketball.

Jan. 24, 2007

OLATHE, Kan. - Vanguard (Calif.) pulled off its third-straight sweep of 11 first-place votes to remain the undisputed No. 1 ranked team in this week's NAIA Division I Women's Basketball Top 25, followed by Lewis-Clark State (Idaho) and Lee (Tenn.), who both stayed put from a week ago.

Saint Xavier (Ill.) jumped up a spot to No. 4 while Lubbock Christian (Texas) moved back into the top five from No. 7, followed by Montana-Western who will spend its second-straight week at No. 6. Cumberlands (Ky.) fell from No. 4 to No. 7 this week, while Union (Tenn.) has moved up four spots from No. 12 to No. 8. Trevecca Nazarene (Tenn.) stayed at No. 9 this week, while the Top 10 rounds out with Oklahoma City, who fell two spots from last week's No. 8 rating.

Only one previously unranked team found its way into the mix this week as Southern Nazarene (Okla.) moved in at No. 25, while Auburn-Montgomery (Ala.) and Freed-Hardman (Tenn.) flipped at No. 14 and 15. Another flip in the rating came at No. 17 and 18, where Georgetown (Ky.) and Oklahoma Christian traded places, and the same switch happened between Langston (Okla.) and The Master's (Calif.) at No. 19 and 20. The third and final position swap came at No. 21 and 22, where Xavier (La.) traded places with Columbia (Mo.).
