JACKSON, Tenn. - Fourth-seeded Lewis-Clark State College (Idaho) defeated fifth-seeded Brewton-Parker College 80-63 to become the first fourth-seeded team to advance to the second round of the 26th annual NAIA Division I Women's Basketball National Championship at Oman Arena.
Lewis-Clark shot 50 percent from the field in both halves of play for a total game percentage of 51.7, while holding the Lady Barons to 30.4 percent on the day.
Aundrea Morrison became to first player of the tournament to reach 30 points, as she led Lewis-Clark in scoring and grabbed 10 rebounds for a double-double. Jade Fulbright followed with 13 points, while Ashley Baker had 12 points and 12 rebounds. Cami Kalbfleisch added 10 rebounds.
Brewton-Parker was led by Ashley Little's 20 points, while Tami Drinks-Holloway had 16 and Trivia Richardson had 14.
Lewis-Clark improves to 26-6 on the season and advances to the second round on Friday at 2:15 a.m. to face top-seeded Trevecca Nazarene University (Tenn.) (30-4).
