JACKSON, Tenn. - Top-seeded Trevecca Nazarene University (Tenn.) defeated Lewis-Clark State College (Idaho) 70-54 in the second round of the 26th annual NAIA Division I Women's Basketball National Championship at Oman Arena.

Trevecca Nazarene led for all but 15 seconds of the game, as Lewis-Clark scored a 3-point basket with 8:23 to play in the first half to take their only lead of the game 19-18, but the Lady Trojans answered shortly on a basket by Ashlie Gilland.

The Lady Trojans took a 36-21 lead into halftime and grew it to as many as 21 four times in the second half. They shot 42 percent from the field and connected on 20-of-26 free throw attempts. Lewis-Clark State shot 33.3 percent from the floor, while connecting on only 6-of-11 free throws.

Jackie Weaver led Trevecca Nazarene with 19 points and eight rebounds, while tying the tournament best for blocks with seven. Ashlie Gilland followed with 16 points, while Jana Reed added 10.

Lewis-Clark State was led by Aundrea Morrison's double-double 22 points and 12 rebounds, followed by Ashley Baker's 13 points.

Trevecca Nazarene improves to 31-4 on the season and advances to the quarterfinals Saturday at 4 p.m. to face sixth-seeded Lubbock Christian University (Texas) (21-11).
