SOUTH BEND, Ind. - Top-ranked and defending champion Oklahoma City University struggled through another day of weather delays, but maintained their lead at the 2006 NAIA Women's Golf National Championships at Blackthorn Golf Club in South Bend, Indiana. The Stars' freshman Ashley Sholer shot her highest score of the tournament but remained ahead of the pack in the hunt for individual medalist honors.

Oklahoma City shot a 317 team score to add the 54-hole tournament record to their impressive accomplishments on the week as they stand at 911. The University of British Columbia turned in the low round of the day with a 311 to cut the Oklahoma City lead to 24 strokes. Southern Nazarene University (Okla.) shot a 314 to move into third place, 48 strokes off the pace.

Sholer struggled on the front nine, making the turn at six-over par before finishing strong with a 37 on the back side. Her three round total of 217 was still enough to give her the individual 54-hole record. Southern Nazarene's Lillie West shot the low round of the day with a 74 to move into second place behind Sholer at +13. Four players are tied for third place at +15.

Final round tee times begin at 8 a.m. on Friday with the final group teeing off at 2 p.m..  The 72-hole event is hosted by Bethel College.
