CRITERIA FOR REGIONAL COMPETITION
The
Region V Tournament will be held simultaneously with the HAAC Conference
Tournament. Each tournament will be scored independently. Awards will be given for each tournament at
the conclusion of all tournament competition.
First round pairings – Determined by adjusted team
scoring average according to GOLFSTAT…the 3 lowest scores will be paired and
will tee-off in seeded order. The
remaining teams will be paired and will tee-off in seeded order.
TIE BREAKER SYSTEM
Ties
between individuals for the Region V Tournament medallist honor will be broken
by sudden-death play-off commencing at the direction of the Region V Tournament
Committee and the Golf Professional of the host course. Ties between teams for first place of the
Region V Tournament will be broken by a sudden-death play-off of all 5 members
of each tied team commencing at the direction of the Region V Tournament
Committee and the Golf Professional of the host course. In the event that the individuals tied for
medallist honors are also members of the team or teams tied for first place,
separate play-offs will be held to resolve those ties. Should weather or course conditions preclude
an on-course play-off to resolve all ties, USGA Rules of Golf Appendix I Local
Rules: Conditions of Competition, Part C: "How to Decide Ties" for
"Stroke Play" (c) shall be used to determine the tie(s).

* If a minimum of 18 holes can not be completed by all
participants, the regional champion will be selected by the following
system: Head-to-Head GOLFSTAT and
ADJUSTED STROKE AVERAGE rankings will be tabulated and divided by 2. The team with the lowest ranking will be
named the Region V Tournament Champion and will qualify for the national NAIA
tournament.
