Roberts Wesleyan University (N.Y.) alum Jennifer Stuczynski placed third in the pole vault at the IAAF International World Athletic Finals in Stuttgart, Germany on September 10. Stuczynski tied Russia's Yelena Isinbaeva after the first attempt with a vault of 4.60 meters (15' 1").   Poland's Monika Pyrek made her first attempt at 4.65 meters to force Stuczynski to pass on her following two attempts and move to 4.70 meters.  Neither Stuczynski nor Pyrek were able to clear the new height, placing Stuczynski third while Isinbaeva won with a height of 4.75 meters.

Isinbaeva was the 2004 Olympic champion and the 2005 World champion with a personal best of 5.01 meters.  Stuczynski set the NAIA indoor record in 2005 with a vault of 4.00 meters (13' 01.5").  Her personal best is 4.66 meters.
