Three NAIA tracksters were named College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-Americans in the College Division team for their respective districts. District honorees are now eligible to be named to the ESPN THE MAGAZINE ACADEMIC ALL-AMERICA TEAMS. Players must be nominated by their institution's sports information director.
Laurel Cook, a junior Aeronautical Science from Embry-Riddle University (Fla.), was named to the first team of District 3 team with a 4.00 GPA. The Eagles' top runner at the Florida Sun Conference/Region XIV Championships, Cook earned a trip to the NAIA National Championships this last fall.
Senior Hilary White of Savannah College of Art and Design (Ga.) was also a District 3 first team member. A repeat selection, the Painting major maintained a 3.63 GPA and was named an All-American for the second consecutive season after finishing in seventh place at the NAIA National Championships in Louisville, Ky.
District 8 member Kelsey Stolz of Oregon Institute of Technology has a cumulative GPA of 4.00 through her sophomore season. The Pre-Medical Imaging major placed third at the 2006 NAIA Outdoor Track & Field National Championships in the javelin, earning All-American honors.
